MAKING A DIFFERENCE
One Smile at a Time
SAAPD is Non-Profit Organisation
At the very core of SAAPD’s existence is the mission to provide optimal oral health for all children, adolescents and people with special needs. This is our passion, and we remain committed to growing our reach every year.
Our dedicated team is committed to education, prevention and treatment of oral health problems in all underprivileged children.
We feel strongly that it is our duty to give back to society in gratitude for the privileged education and skill which we have received.
Our outreach projects are run soley by volunteers. We rely on donations from industry partners to be able to provide these services at absolutely sero cost to the recipient.
YOU can help us make a difference! Let’s get South Africa SMILING!
OUTREACH PROJECTS
Give a Smile Back Campaign
In collaboration with Cure Day Hospitals, the South African Society of Anaesthesiologists (SASA) and The Oral Hygienists Association of South Africa (OHASA)
This exciting and ambitious project launched in 2022, and has proved incredibly successful so far.
SAAPD collaborates with exciting partners to bring pro bono dental procedures to children who need treatment under general anaesthesia.
With the incredible collaboration with Cure Day Clinics, SASA, OHASA, Wright Millners, Curaprox and Prime Dental, we aim to treat 50 Children pro bono by the end of 2023.
Mobile Clinic
Launching soon in collaboration with Rhiza Babuyile and Standard Bank, SAAPD will be the proud owners of a mobile dental clinic where emphasis will be placed on mother and child dental and general services. We will be providing affordable care to members of the community across the whole of South Africa.
Project Tooth Day
In 2022 we launched Project Tooth Day. This project connects dental practices all over the country with charities to provide free treatment to a handful of kids in need of dental care where waiting lists at public clinics are too long.
Colgate Smile Drive
Every year in collaboration with Colgate members of SAAPD distribute thousands of toothbrushes to children across South Africa as they do educational talks at their schools and children's hospitals.
World Oral Health Day
Each year in March oral health care professionals unite to create awareness around oral hygiene and the burden of oral disease. SAAPD runs educational, social media and informative engagements on oral health around this time.
